Dual-Targeting siRNA
Reported by Marcia Brady | September 23rd, 2024 @ 09:22 AM
The inclusion of two functionally active guide strands in one siRNA could provide redundancy against escape mutations in viral therapy or combinatorial inhibition of oncogenes in cancer treatment. Although using multiple different siRNAs can create the same redundancy, using dual-targeting siRNAs with two active strands in a therapeutic setting simplifies delivery and can reduce the side effects from passenger strand off-targeting.
